Toorcamp, 4th, vanlife, GCFA, maybe covid (or a dumb cold)
I went to toorcamp without really knowing what toorcamp was about, and ended up having a blast. Somehow, I ended up with only 2 pictures. I feel as though these accurately represent my experience.

I went home with a new love for yerba mate and a sneaky headcold. I had only 3 days at home before heading out for 4th of July weekend to Quilcene, and to wait on my GCFA books to be delivered. I felt... not awesome, so ended up spending a couple of those days getting intimate with theraflu, then felt better. Packed up the van, got all my VMs set up, got ready to dive in, and headed out.
Then it hit me. Hard. Van mess for evidence.

I've spent the last 3 days trying to recover from this vicious virus, wondering if it might be covid (a familiar feeling), in a van in the trees. Without any cold meds, and without the energy to drive anywhere and get any. Luckily, I've got everything else I could possibly need, and today - Sunday - I think I'm up to 70%. I'll drive home tomorrow mid-day, after enjoying the one day of sun, attempting some yoga, spinning some yarn (did I mention Tour de Fleece started yesterday?). I have also managed, somehow, to get through the first 4 modules of the first GCFA book, and build out 122 lines in my index. This is my favorite cert so far, and I'll hit the first lab today. At some point I'll do a whole post about my indexing process, which works incredibly well for me (100% on GFACT, 99% on GSEC, 98% on GCIH).
I did add a portfolio page while at toorcamp, and found some incredible resources for more learning.
5 DAYS LATER:
Covid test negative, but this has to be one of the worst summer colds I've ever experienced. I'm finally back to about 80% but still experiencing moments akin to what snorting lines of black pepper must feel like.
I'm still on book 1 of GCFA but not for lack of effort - this material is THICK and incredibly interesting.
At this point I've completely forgotten what this post was supposed to be about so I'm just going to publish it and move on with my life 🤣 😷
